Originally painted on wood board in acrylic, this most unique of Australian animals, the Platypus looks to us, asking some tough questions about what we’re doing to protect our environment. Why is he sitting high and dry and not in a lovely clean river? He’s certainly asking for some attention... as are all the wild platypus. This unique egg-laying mammal (a monotreme) is in urgent need of having its conservation classification upgraded to threatened. We can all help by keeping our waterways clear of rubbish and encouraging government bodies to pay more attention to the health of our environment and biodiversity ... also vital for our own livelihoods.
